Chairman

A former member of RevUP’s Programme Advisory Committee, TD was elected Chairman on May 30, 2025. He is a pioneering figure in Africa’s startup ecosystem, applying decades of global tech leadership to build its early-stage investment landscape.

His mission is to “Find, Fund & Follow” innovative African founders using technology to create economic and social impact. To accomplish this, he co-founded the Lagos Angel Network (LAN), served as the founding President of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), and is a board member of the Global Business Angel Network (GBAN), establishing vital investment infrastructure across the continent.

TD’s influence is both operational and strategic. He founded and leads TVC Labs, an entrepreneurship support organization in Lagos that helps startups achieve product-market fit and prepare for fundraising. His investment philosophy is captured in his POEM Framework®—a model for evaluating ventures based on Proposition, Organization, Economics, and Milestones, which he shares through his book Investment Worthy Startup to guide founders and investors.

These contributions have established him as a central architect of Africa’s startup investment community.

Joe is the founding Chairman of First Angels Jamaica, the country’s first Angel investor network. He is Chairman of ICD Group Holdings, which has interests in real estate, homebuilding, property management, general insurance underwriting, business process outsourcing (BPO), ecommerce and technology distribution through its subsidiary and associated companies British Caribbean Insurance, West Indies Home Contractors, WIHCON Properties, Advantage Communications, Intcomex LLC, and the Social Media Group.

Sandra A. C. Glasgow

Managing Director

Sandra is the Founder and Managing Director of BizTactics Limited, a consulting company dedicated to mentoring growth-aspiring firms and promoting best-in-class corporate governance in the Caribbean. She is an Angel Investor having personally invested in 13 local companies and is a Co-Founder of Jamaica’s first Angel Investor Network, FirstAngels Caribbean. In 2021, she was named one of the top 50 Caribbean Women in Technology. In 2023 she was appointed Honorary Consul for the Republic of Suriname.

She was Jamaica’s Eisenhower Fellow in 2000. She is the Founder of the Technology Innovation Centre, Jamaica’s first technology business Incubator, at the University of Technology, Jamaica. A graduate of the University of the West Indies, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with a specialisation in the Management of Technology. She is a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and serves on a number of boards of private and publicly listed companies, including the NCB Financial Group and National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, Stanley Motta Limited two private companies in the FirstAngels portfolio, three charities – the National Crime Prevention Fund (Crime Stop), which she chairs, Multicare Foundation and the Little Theatre Movement 2022 Foundation and the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator.

Kimala is an entrepreneurial visionary in the creative space as founder and CEO of the groundbreaking advertising and production company The Limners and Bards (L. A. B.) Ltd. The LAB has built a reputation as a fully integrated creative agency and production company which produces 360-degree campaigns from concept to consumer, with high-quality content, as well as audio and film production and in 2019 it became the first advertising agency and production company to be listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

Kimala is determined to share her success by building those around her. She has published three manuals for Caribbean entrepreneurs: “Starting a Business in Jamaica”, “The Young Entrepreneurs Handbook”, and “Let’s Talk Money.” Her passion for guiding and nurturing young entrepreneurs is inspired by her own opportunities studying internationally.

She studied at Mount Holyoke College, and thrived under the tutelage of the Network for Training Entrepreneurs and the internationally acclaimed Action Coach programme. She is currently enrolled in the Jack Welsh Management Institute EMBA programme. She serves on several boards and has received awards including the 2019 Anthony Sabga Laureate for Caribbean Excellence in Entrepreneurship. She is also a recipient of the PSOJ ’50 Under Fifty Business Leaders Shaping Jamaica’s Future Awards’, Bigga’s High Achievers award and the Rotary Club of St Andrew North Vocational Service Award.

Mayer has spent the majority of his 12-year career working in finance, first at Citibank and later at the independent financial advisory firm York Investment Management, where he currently serves as Chief Operating Officer. Since 2014, Mayer has served as a director of the ICD Group of Companies, a Jamaican conglomerate with interests in the areas of insurance, construction and development, business process outsourcing, eCommerce and distribution, both inside and outside of Jamaica. Mayer also serves as an advisor to the Jamaican operations of the international charity Mustard

Rachel Renie-Gonzales

Rachel is a pioneering entrepreneur and food security advocate who co-founded ‘D Market Movers’ in 2009, Trinidad and Tobago’s first online platform for fresh, local produce and goods. Her data-driven business now connects over 300 farmers and artisans with more than 10,000 online shoppers.

As the driving force behind the D Market Movers Group, she provides farmers with critical training in climate resilience, digitization, and business support to strengthen supply chains. Her entrepreneurial vision has expanded to include Farm and Function, a brand distributing frozen Caribbean fruits across the region.

A sought-after speaker featured at TEDx and on global stages, Rachel actively promotes technology as a tool for agricultural transformation. Her mentorship with Youth Business Trinidad and Tobago encourages youth involvement in the sector. Her distinguished career has been recognized with awards like the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year and, most recently, the prestigious 2025 Anthony Sabga Caribbean Laureate for Entrepreneurship.
Trevor Chung

Trevor, a former member of RevUP’s Programme Advisory Committee, is a Product Leader with the majority of his 18-year career spent in FinTech (both FTSE100 and Series A startups) with notable detours into Social Media. He has worked at some of the best technology companies in the world such as Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Instagram, GoDaddy, and is currently the Head of Digital and Design at NCB Jamaica Limited.

Trevor serves as a director on The Gleaner Company Limited Print board, as well as a member of the RJR Group Digital Business and Technology Committee, and the PSOJ AI Guidelines Sub-Committee. He also serves as an advisor to a number of startups both in Jamaica, Barbados, and in the United Kingdom.

He coaches and mentors aspiring and existing Product Managers and is sought after as a Product Coach. He holds degrees from Northern Caribbean University, Florida International University and a Masters from Kings College London.
Melanie Subratie

Melanie Subratie, a highly influential figure in the Caribbean business and investment community, was elected Chairman of FirstAngels Caribbean in September 2025. This appointment places her at the helm of a pivotal organization dedicated to fueling the regional startup ecosystem.

Subratie is the Deputy Chairman of the Musson (Jamaica) Group and Chairman and CEO of Stanley Motta Limited. Her portfolio extends across numerous sectors, including insurance, manufacturing, and distribution, through board roles at companies like General Accident Insurance Company, the Seprod Group, and the Facey Group. This broad corporate leadership is complemented by her commitment to national development as the Chairman of Jamaica’s trade and investment promotion agency, JAMPRO.

A graduate of the London School of Economics, Melanie is also recognized as a dedicated angel investor. Before her election as Chairman, she was a director of First Angels, a Network that has mobilized almost USD $3 million for Jamaican startups. She is also the co-founder of Jamaican Girls Coding, an initiative to foster technology skills among the nation’s youth.

Abuna is a commercial attorney with expertise in private equity, corporate finance, capital markets, real estate, infrastructure, employment, and data protection law. Called to the Bar in April 2019, he began his legal career at Harrison & Harrison Attorneys-at-Law before joining Cardinal Law, where he is now a partner.

Abuna advises investment firms, listed and private companies, microcredit institutions, and high-net-worth individuals on a range of complex transactions and regulatory matters across the Caribbean. His core practice areas include capital markets, fund structuring, mergers & acquisitions, private credit, secured lending, real estate transactions, employment & labour and regulatory compliance.

Abuna serves as company secretary and non-executive director for several private entities, including Lifespan Company Limited, First Angels Caribbean Limited, Rev Up Jamaica Limited, and Term Finance Jamaica Limited. He is also a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee of Jamaica Professional Football Limited, a subsidiary of the Jamaica Football Federation and operator of the Jamaica Premier League.

He frequently advises on corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory licensing, particularly for microcredit and investment firms. He also supports clients with asset protection, tax-efficient structuring, and employment law compliance, including data protection and privacy obligations.

Her company, DRT Communications Ltd. offers Marketing Communications and Media Monitoring Services to over 40 clients across the Caribbean. Danielle’s experience has had her developing and implementing marketing communications strategies for companies such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Red Bull, Red Stripe and several others.

Sanya Goffe

Sanya is an Attorney-at-Law and a Partner with the law firm Hart Muirhead Fatta. She was called to the Jamaican Bar in 2003 and her main areas of practice include Corporate, Commercial, Pensions and Intellectual Property law. Sanya is Jamaica’s 2020 Eisenhower Fellow. She serves on numerous boards including Director of NCB Financial Group Limited, National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, Jamaica Producers Group Limited and the advisory board of the National Insurance Fund.

Sanya and her husband co-founded the Adult Learning Centres of Jamaica, a non-profit organisation to provide adult literacy programs in Jamaica. An active member of the Jamaican Bar Association, Sanya presently serves as a member of the Bar Association’s Commercial Law and Intellectual Property Law Committees. She is also a member of the UK Association of Pension Lawyers and the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association and the 2017 recipient of its Libby Slater Award.
